The Assistant Athletic Trainer provides the best possible medical care for the student-athletes and visiting athletic teams. Emphasis is placed on prevention such as taping, protective equipment, flexibility training. Additionally, the incumbent will provide a professional clinical setting for Long Beach State students interested in pursuing a career in athletic training.
Experience working with Word, Excel, and Sportsware in order to track injury and treatment records of the student-athletes. Knowledge of physical therapy modalities and treatment protocols to provide a standardized care for the student-athlete.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
A bachelor’s degree in athletic training, physical education, kinesiology, or related field of study is required. Master’s degree preferred.
Athletic training certification in good standing by the National Athletic Trainers Association - Board of Certification. CPR/AED certification. First Aid certification.
CA Driver's License required.

The salary range for this classification is $20.60 to $39.76 per hour.
Hourly/intermittent, on call temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Long Beach State Athletics is committed to following NCAA, Big West Conference, Golden Coast Conference, and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rules and regulations. Therefore, the incumbent is required to maintain a working knowledge of these rules and regulations.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
