Assistant Athletic Trainer / Instructor of Athletic Training

The University of Evansville Department of Athletics is seeking a dedicated, student-centered, and collaborative athletic training professional to join our Sports Medicine team. This position will assist the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine in providing comprehensive healthcare services for University student-athletes while also supporting the School of Health Sciences Athletic Training Program through classroom instruction and clinical education.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary athletic trainer for Women's Volleyball and may be assigned additional sport coverage as determined by the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. This position combines clinical athletic training responsibilities with teaching and clinical supervision duties, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to both student-athlete health and athletic training education.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Athletic Trainer / Instructor will balance athletic training services, educational responsibilities, and administrative duties. Primary responsibilities include:

Athletic Training & Sports Medicine

  • Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses for assigned student-athletes.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention and rehabilitation programs in collaboration with the Sports Medicine team.
  • Deliver healthcare education and counseling to student-athletes.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, physicians, coaching staff, and parents, when appropriate, regarding injury status and treatment plans.
  • Coordinate and provide medical coverage for practices, competitions, and team travel.
