Position Description

Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time position of Assistant Athletic Trainer to work with our 22 Division I sport programs. This position will also coordinate all aspects of the department's athletic injury insurance claims. This position assists the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer and staff with the safety and welfare of the student-athletes. This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Position Reports To: Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine / Head Athletic Trainer

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer with day-to-day operations of the athletic training room

  • Provide treatment and care to injured athletes.

  • Responsible for injury evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, practice and game coverage, documentation, and communication with physicians and coaches.

  • Manages athletic injury insurance claims, verifies primary insurance information, submits primary and secondary insurance documentation, processing of student athlete bills, submits and tracks claims through resolution as needed and educates student athletes and families on the insurance processes.

  • Serve as liaison between team physicians, athletic administrators and coaches.
