The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting in day to day managing and providing coverage for College’s Patriots Point training facility, which includes baseball, softball, and men/women’s soccer. The primary sports assignment is women’s soccer.
Master’s degree required.
NATA
and
CPR
/
AED
certification required as well as eligibility for South Carolina certification. A minimum of 2 years of certified athletic training experience required, preferably at the Division I level. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Ability to relate to both men’s and women’s athletic injuries and rehabilitation of injuries required. Experience in the supervision and education of the Athletic Training students and graduate interns preferred. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with other staff and the medical community required. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to all college, conference, and
NCAA
rules and regulations. Applicants must also possess strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Job Duties
| Activity |
Provides injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries, short and long term evaluation of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student athletes. Assists in the daily health care of the student-athletes. Records and maintains appropriate medical records and treatment given. Assists in the clinical education of post-graduate athletic trainers.

Responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of the Patriots Point Athletic Training Room which services men’s and women’s soccer, softball, baseball, men’s and women’s tennis. Serves as head athletic trainer for the women’s soccer team and for one additional non-traveling sport, as assigned. Interfaces with various internal and external personnel for referral purposes and information exchange.
