Job Summary:

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will provide services for the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports related injuries to HPU student athletes. They will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in the day-to-day operations of the athletic training department to include, but not limited to, appropriate application of emergency procedures, providing first aid, documentation of care, and communication with coaches and physicians. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in providing proper coverage for all HPU athletic events and athletic training room supervision. They will provide practice, game, and travel coverage for assigned sport(s). As the Strength & Conditioning Coach for all sports, you will also be expected to: provide weight room orientation for athletes, provide training and supervision in the weight room, and monitor ‘open gym’ as needed. Additionally, provide training for coaching staff and manage the weight room facility to ensure safety for all.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • CPR/AED certification for the professional rescuer
  • Must be eligible for Hawaii State Licensure.
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning (CSCS) Certification or ability to certify within 6 months.
