Job Summary

Leads Cleveland State Athletics’ communications and digital strategy functions. Develops and executes communications and content strategy that conveys Cleveland State Athletics brand through both modern and traditional platforms. Oversees the athletics communications unit and supervises assigned personnel. Will serve as the day-to-day primary communications contact for multiple programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, sports management, business administration, or related field.
• Four (4) years of experience in communications, sports information, digital strategy or content creation in collegiate or professional sports. Experience includes graduate internships.
• Experience working with social and digital media.
• Ability to travel and work evening and weekend hours as required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under the CSU’s Motor Vehicle Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) years of content creation and live broadcast experience.
• Experience developing strategy for social and digital media outlets.
• Previous leadership experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Knowledge of current NCAA stat software
• Knowledge of Adobe products
• Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and legislation and committed to abiding by them.
• Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery.
• Ability to efficiently multi-task and provide responsiveness within and outside of the organization.
• Possess the ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources.
• Possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and decision-making abilities.
• Possess a high degree of confidentiality to available information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
