Description

The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance will work closely with the Athletics Director, athletics administration, athletics department staff, student-athletes, coaching staff and other designated University administrators, coordinating and leading all aspects of an NCAA compliance and rules education program. The Assistant Athletics Director will serve as the institutional contact on all NCAA compliance and eligibility issues and other duties and responsibilities related to NCAA compliance.

Position Duties

• Oversees and coordinates the certification of eligibility of student-athletes in conjunction with all campus certification officials including the NCAA, NCAA Eligibility Center, and Northeast-10 Conference (NE10).
• Coordinates the completion of and maintains all NCAA and NE10 Conference forms and reports throughout the year. This includes but is not limited to: NCAA Academic Performance Census, NCAA Graduation Rates, Squad Lists, NCAA Sports Sponsorship and Demographics Form, medical hardship waivers, NCAA waivers, student-athlete statements, drug testing consent forms, employment forms, international and amateurism forms, NCAA certification of compliance form, Olympic participation waivers and other NCAA forms and reports throughout the year.
• Conducts comprehensive rules education programs for all university constituencies (student-athletes, coaches, administrators, boosters, etc.). This includes overseeing the NCAA Coaches Certification Modules, beginning of the year team meetings, and reviews with Booster organizations.
• Answers questions about NE-10 Conference and NCAA rules for all university constituencies.
• Maintains current working knowledge of academic rules and procedures of the University, NE-10 Conference and NCAA.
• Maintains liaison with the NCAA and NE-10 Conference Compliance departments.
• Monitors institutional adherence to all rules and policies of the University, NE-10 Conference, and NCAA.
• Conducts periodic reviews of policies and procedures to ensure appropriateness and compliance.
• Coordinates the University's policies and procedures for responding to rule violations, in terms of investigating alleged violations, reporting found violations and presenting written reports to the same.
• Serve as the liaison with the budget office and athletic department as it relates to NCAA and EADA.
• Serve on the NE-10 Sports Administration Council to review changes in sport policies, with careful consideration to impact on student-athlete welfare. budget, and competition equity.
• Review and recommend changes to Sport Operating Policies, including dates, sites, and formats of Conference championships.
• Site administrator for selected home athletic contests/events as required by NE-10, NCAA and Pace University.
• Department of Athletics Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) Coordinator.
• Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, this position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs are individuals at the University who, because of their function at the University, have an obligation under the Clery Act to notify the University of alleged Clery Crimes that are reported to them in good faith, or alleged Clery Crimes that they may personally witness. CSAs will be required to complete training with respect to the Clery Act and the responsibilities of a CSA.

Work Hours

FT Hours vary based on student-athlete support needs and event schedules; some nights, weekends and holiday work is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
• Two years experience in NCAA compliance; computer literacy.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
