Reporting directly to the Athletics Director (AD), the Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations and Finance is a member of the AD’s Senior Team and is committed to advancing the department through its strategic plan. This position serves as the primary leader and manager of the daily operations and administration of all business/financial activities and travel operations of the department. This includes financial strategic planning, developing and managing budgets, all accounting functions for revenues and expenses for departmental operating funds and Athletics Foundation accounts, preparing and ensuring compliance with annual

, Big South Conference, and University Financial Reports. This position has a dotted reporting line to the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance.
Exempt
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Sports Administration or Management; demonstrated experience (at least three (3) years) in accounting and fiscal management with working knowledge of various financial software and spreadsheet programs. Experience in analyzing and interpreting financial data and budget preparation. Ability to assess, interpret and apply applicable policies, procedures and guidelines that have significant financial and/or operational impact on the Athletics Department. Effective decision making, data analysis and supervisory skills.
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion and interact effectively with multiple constituencies, both internal and external, to execute job responsibilities.
Advanced Degree; experience working in a collegiate athletics environment preferably

Financial Reporting and Audits. Working knowledge of Banner.
Must be able to work independently without direct supervision. Proficient and comfortable using administrative financial systems; excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to work effectively and pleasantly as a team member; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to prioritize tasks, exercise judgment and decision-making skills.
