Southern Utah University Athletics is seeking an Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing. This position leads the department's effort for all marketing strategies and community/student engagement.
This position reports to the Sr. Associate Athletics Director and is expected to identify opportunities to broaden exposure for and increase the fanbase of Southern Utah Athletics. It will oversee all other positions directly related to marketing and social media.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Report to the Sr. Associate Athletic Director in running the day-to-day operations of the Southern Utah Athletics Marketing office, including the direct supervision of the Director of New Media, Director of Creative Medias, and student interns.
Oversee and perform/assign duties related to marketing plans, social media presence, in-game elements, promotions, and fan engagement for SUU athletic events. Enhance Athletics' image locally, statewide and nationally.
Engage the local community and SUU's student population in creative ways to promote and garner interest in SUU Athletics.
Work closely with areas of revenue generation and licensing/branding to set/achieve goals, foster growth in revenue, and ensure correct use of department trademarks in all marketing efforts.
Coordinate and execute "game day" scoreboard requirements and scripts for all SUU sporting events.
Oversee a consistent and positive social media presence in order to enhance the department's brand and tell the stories of Southern Utah Athletics.
Work collaboratively with the department's strategic communication department as well as the University's Office of Marketing Communication to enhance Southern Utah Athletics.
Assist with the execution of non-team related events sponsored by the Athletics Department, including Hall of Fame, coaches luncheons and other special events.
Night and weekend work is required.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required.
Combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Goal-oriented and proactive work mentality is a must.
Computer experience and proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, Google suite, and general computer skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Organizing and editing skills and direct knowledge and application of AP writing style.
Experience in website maintenance and back-end updating.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with, lead, and manage students and full-time employees from a wide range of backgrounds, abilities and experience.
Proven ability to handle high-stress situations, juggle multiple tasks and delegate responsibilities when necessary.
