Primary Duties

Under the direction of the head coach, the assistant will coach student-athletes, including leading all team practices and scheduled games/competitions; develop game preparation and strategy; condition and train student-athletes in order to develop skill, character, and teamwork in baseball.

Assists the head coach in the management of the baseball program by planning and coordinating all practices, workouts, and competitions; ensures all University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations are followed, including student-athlete eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, scheduling, and academic progress; manages the program’s operating budget through procurement requests and travel reimbursements; and supervises assistant coaches.

Recruits highly qualified prospective student-athletes in coordination with the strategic vision of the head coach.

Monitors player academics including student welfare and encouraging academic excellence. Helps organize and conduct team camps; aids in the development of fund-raising opportunities; serves on committees that promote the success of the program and athletics; establishes and maintains community contacts and enhances the success of the program.
 

Ancillary Duties

Other duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach and/or Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships.
