Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head Baseball Coach, the Assistant Coach performs all duties necessary to support a nationally competitive Division I program in the Big South Conference.

Job Summary

Teaches fundamentals, skill development and position techniques to student-athletes.

Works closely with athletic trainers, academic and student services, compliance and athletic performance staff to monitor the overall progress/wellbeing of student-athletes.

Assists with operations, including team travel, recruiting, equipment, scheduling and

budget.

Assists in recruiting, including identifying prospects through video and nationwide travel, as assigned.

Helps plan and participates in fundraising opportunities, alumni events and

community service activities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of baseball coaching experience at the collegiate, high school and/or club level.

Preferred Qualifications

Collegiate playing experience; recruiting experience; experience counseling and advising student-athletes; experience with Adobe products and

ARMS

or similar recruiting software; and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Summary

Expert knowledge of baseball, including offensive and defensive strategies, and coaching techniques. Working knowledge of

NCAA

and Big South Conference rules and regulations and the ability to apply them. Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to demonstrate and teach sport-specific skills. Ability to maintain high ethical and moral standards, cultivate an encouraging and inclusive environment, and inspire and motivate student athletes academically, athletically and professionally. Ability to work a flexible schedule and

travel as needed.
