This position reports to the Head Baseball Coach. Responsible to the head coach for providing coaching expertise and leadership of the intercollegiate athletics Baseball program; assisting the head coach in the effective management and administration of all aspects relating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience for student-athletes. and other administrative duties.
Primary accountabilities:
Teaching and coaching student-athletes to develop and acquire the tactical, technical and physical knowledge required to be a competitive Division I intercollegiate level student-athlete. Responsible for skill instruction during individual and team practices.
Talent assessment and recruiting. Assists in conducting a successful recruiting program to identify and cultivate outstanding student-athletes to Ohio University.
Ensure the Baseball program, including staff members and student-athletes, is in compliance with
NCAA
, Mid-American Conference, and Ohio University regulations. Other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Must have the administrative ability to manage daily operations. Candidate must display the highest of ethical standards, recruit qualified student-athletes and display a commitment to their academic success. Working knowledge and understanding of
NCAA
rules and procedures is necessary.
CPR
certification will be required within 90 days of start date.
Bachelor’s degree required. At least one year of baseball coaching experience is required.
Master’s degree and collegiate experience with a Division I program preferred.
ICA-Baseball
Commensurate with education and experience.
