The Assistant Business Manager ensures that financial tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to, purchase requisitions, internal orders, transfer of funds, procurement card transactions, monthly and year-end reporting, recruiting/recruiting travel authorizations and reimbursements, are appropriately and properly processed and recorded in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (
GAAP
). This position works with the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations to ensure adequate internal controls are installed and that substantiating documentation meets or exceeds internal and external audits.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Business Management/Operations, Economics, Organizational Management/Development, Sports Administration/Management, or any other field related to responsibilities and duties.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in
NCAA
/professional sports
Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in cash management and reporting including account reconciliation, interpretation of financial data, and creation of annual budgets
Experience with Kuali Financial System, Oracle, and
TMS
(or similar systems)
Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word
Solid understanding of intermediate accounting concepts and ability to generate, review, verify, and reconcile financial reports and systems
Proven ability as a self-starter and problem solver
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Ability to prepare and present revenue/expense reports
Ability to interpret and analyze data
Ability to manage priorities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Business Management/Operations, Economics, Organizational Management/Development, Sports Administration/Management, or any other field related to responsibilities and duties.
Experience with Colorado State operating systems including: Kuali Financial System, Oracle, Talent Management System, TimeClock Plus Manager, and Ticket Office management system
Exceptional customer service skills
Passion for sports
Knowledge of
NCAA
policies, procedures and regulations
Demonstrated knowledge of, and relevant ability with, culturally diverse communities among potential target and constituent populations.
