This position is part-time, and serves as the Assistant Cheerleading Coach. The University of West Georgia, a Division 2 member of the GSC conference, will be transitioning to Division 1 as a part of the ASUN conference is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Cheerleading Coach. This position will assist the head coach with administrative and instructional responsibilities. The candidate will help coordinate with other assistant coaches and the head cheerleading coach. The focus of the assistant coach is to help increase skill levels for game day and national performances, assist with recruitment, community service events, monitor academics and fundraising.

Instruct small group on fundamentals, drills and competition/game day preparation. Conduct player meetings when needed.

Assist head coach with daily practices, study hall and other duties as assigned.

Evaluate high school players from assigned areas in state and out of state.

Counsel players for progress towards degree and any other academic needs.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
A minimum of four years of experience as a collegiate student athlete or two years of Athletic graduate assistant experience at the NCAA DII or higher level is required.

Preferred Experience
At least one year of coaching experience in sideline and competition skills at the collegiate level is preferred. Current USA membership and AED, CPR, and First Aid certification are preferred and may be obtained upon hire.
The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.

Must be energetic, professional, and committed to improving theUWG Cheer programs. Ability to promote a positive environment that allows the students to succeed academically, athletically, and in the community. Ability to instruct student athletes in skills and safety.
