Friends University is seeking to fill the full-time Assistant Coach for Baseball position in Wichita Kansas. This position will assist the head baseball coach in all aspects of the baseball program, as well as recruiting student athletes to support the Christian mission and values of Friends University and the NAIA Champions of Character. Duties will include coaching and teaching the game of baseball, including practice and game day planning, and overseeing the development of practice and game coaching and strategies for assigned position group. Other duties could include budget management, equipment needs, facility scheduling and management, collaboration with the athletic training team and ensuring retention and graduation of baseball student athletes. Assist in the development of recruitment strategies and facilitate those strategies with the Head Coach, Admissions, AVP of Athletics and Financial Aid. Work hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 pm Monday-Friday, with some weekends required.

At least four years of collegiate playing as well as four years of coaching is preferred. Experience with recruiting and eligibility processes preferred but not required.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required. Must be able to multi-task and be a part of a fast-paced demanding environment.
Ability to maintain confidential information, strong time management and leadership development skills. Must be able to work in a variety of weather and able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
