Job Summary

The Assistant Football Coach assists the Head Football Coach in the administration and daily operation of the football program. The position is responsible for coaching assigned position groups, recruiting prospective student-athletes, supporting academic success and retention efforts, participating in program administration and budget management, and ensuring full compliance with NCAA, conference, Texas State University System, and university rules and regulations.

Essential Job Functions

Coaching and Player Development:

  • Coach assigned position group(s) as directed by the Head Football Coach.
  • Plan and conduct practices, drills, and skill development sessions.
  • Analyze game films and provide instruction to improve individual and team performance.
  • Assist with game planning and in-game coaching adjustments.
