The Competitive Cheer and Dance Assistant Coach aids in all facets of the Competitive Cheer and Dance programs, particularly in the areas of recruiting, training, scheduling, conditioning, and choreographing/teaching of material particularly to the dance team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists the Head Cheer/Dance Coach & Spirit Coordinator in the administration and
coaching of the Competitive Cheer and Dance program.
Potential travel required to attend SCAC, NCAA meetings, conferences, recruit
combines, and potential post-season tournament games and national competitions.
Assists in the recruiting of qualified student-athletes and monitoring student-athlete academic progress.
Provide leadership and guidance in the personal and athletics development of student-athletes.
Assists in organizing practice plans, travel, and game day preparations.
Assists in choreographing and teaching game day, performance, and national
material/routines.
Promotes a favorable image of the College. Assists in encouraging surrounding community partnerships that enhance Centenary College.
Assists in fundraising for the Competitive Cheer and Dance programs.
Assists in administering and overseeing Competitive Cheer and Dance camps.
Working knowledge of Competitive Cheer and Dance rules and guidelines, knowledge or experience with USA Cheer, ICU Worlds, UCA/UDA and/or NCA/NDA College National rules.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
MINIMUM
3 or more years as a cheerleader or dancer or experience in dance or cheer coaching at the college or junior college level preferred.
Knowledge and experience in choreographing game day, performance, and national’s material specifically in dance.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills.
Well organized and self-motivated.
Ability to assist in recruiting, supervising, and evaluating student athletes.
