Position Summary
Valley City State University is searching for an Assistant Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field coach.  This position will assist the head coach with the following duties: scheduling competitions and planning practices; recruiting, coaching, mentoring and retaining student athletes; monitoring annual budgets; arranging team and recruiting travel; supervising assistant coaches; fundraising and other departmental duties; fostering strong alumni relations and meeting all institutional, and NAIA rules and regulations. This contract has the option to being January 2026 or August 2026.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience coaching cross country, and/or indoor and outdoor track.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree, accomplished coaching background, excellent communication skills; strong organizational and leadership skills; a demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and retain academically and athletically successful student-athletes; a commitment and history of integrating the student athlete into the campus community of a small college.

Compensation 
$32,000-$36,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
