The Intercollegiate Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Coach to join their team.
This position will report to the Head Coach and will assist in the successful operation of the women’s rowing program, including but not limited to:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
• Assist with coaching, training and selection of student-athletes.
• Management of general recruiting inquiries, scheduling and set up of official visits.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with junior rowing coaches.
• Evaluate and recruit local rowers and non-rowing prospects.
• Maintain media outlets for the program through social media, alumni, and other areas.
• Work with staff toward goal of excellence in all aspects of Washington Rowing.
• Represent the University of Washington, the Athletic Department and the Rowing program with the highest professional and ethical behavior.
• Prepare department reports and maintain records as required.
• May assist with supervision and logistics of team travel.
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of successful coaching experience at the collegiate or elite level.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Two years of successful experience coaching junior rowers, or two years of competing at the Senior National Team level.
