About the Role:
The Assistant Coach I, Climbing is a part-time, hourly position reporting to the Head Coach for Climbing. This role supports the coaching, development, and administration of Westminster University’s Climbing program, which participates in the USA Climbing Collegiate Series. The Assistant Coach plays a key role in recruiting and retaining student-athletes, assisting with practices and competitions, and supporting the academic, athletic, and personal development of team members, along with other responsibilities.
This position requires a commitment to student-athlete welfare, academic success, and the University’s mission and values. The role involves a flexible schedule with evenings, weekends, and travel, and demands both independent initiative and effective teamwork in a dynamic, student-centered environment.

Responsibilities:
Assist the head coach with administrative tasks as assigned which includes the following but not limited to:
Compliance with institutional, conference and national governing regulations
Required to provide and/or secure and maintain CPR, AED and First Aid Certification
Commitment to welfare and development of student athletes
Work closely with other staff to promote Climbing as an integral part of the university learning environment and support the academic success of student-athletes
Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards consistent with the University’s mission, vision and values which include diversity, equity, and inclusion
Perform other duties as assigned
