About the Role:

The Assistant Coach I for Men’s Lacrosse is a part-time position that reports to the Head Coach and supports the daily operations of the Westminster University men’s lacrosse program, an NCAA Division II member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. This role assists with coaching, recruiting, scouting, and administrative responsibilities while helping promote the academic success, athletic development, and overall well-being of student-athletes. The position requires a strong commitment to NCAA Division II values, compliance with institutional and NCAA regulations, and fostering an inclusive and ethical team environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist the head coach with the recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes
2. General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and experience in coaching men’s lacrosse
3. Assist with coaching during practices, games, and camps
4. Assist with scouting of opponents and game video review with team

5. Assist the head coach with administrative tasks as assigned which includes following but not limited to:

   1. Travel arrangements
   2. Overseeing academic progress of student athletes
   3. Team equipment
   4. Fundraising activities
   5. Community service

6. Compliance with institutional, conference and national governing regulations

7. Required to provide and/or secure and maintain CPR, AED and First Aid Certification

8. Commitment to welfare and development of student athletes within the NCAA II philosophy

9. Work closely with other staff to promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the university learning environment and support the academic success of student-athletes

10. Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards consistent with the University’s mission, vision and values which include diversity, equity, and inclusion

11. Perform other duties as assigned

Intercollegiate Athletics Compliance Requirements:

• Maintain knowledge of and comply with NCAA rules and regulations
• Follow all institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations
• Must attend required meetings and trainings associated with compliance duties
• NCAA violations may result in disciplinary action
• Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards consistent with the University's mission, vision and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion

Ope** rational Requirements:**

• Schedule outside normal business hours.
• This position will require some irregular work schedule including days, nights, weekends and travel some.

Additional Requirements:

• Regular travel throughout the year and/or at specified times of the year will be required.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch required.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Demonstrate record of success in coaching and recruiting student athletes at the collegiate level
• Up to one year of relevant work experience
• Ability to work independently
• Strong leadership, motivational and organizational skills
• Effective interpersonal and public relation communication skills
• Ability to create a positive atmosphere conducive to learning
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with high standards and goals
• Commitment to high academic and professional standards
