The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach reports to the Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach and is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in carrying out all activities necessary to accomplish the objectives of this sport within the guidelines of the NCAA, Sunshine State Conference and Rollins College.
Primary responsibilities include:
Coordinate activities through the Head Coach, including, but not limited to:
Recruiting - identifying prospective student-athletes who meet Rollins College’s academic standards; contacting (email, phone, mail, social media) prospective recruits, families, and coaches; arranging campus visits for recruits; and developing recruiting materials.
On-deck coaching to swimming student-athletes as assigned by the Head Coach.
Strength training and conditioning, data collection and management, arranging travel, tracking equipment, and managing budgets.
Counsel student-athletes in sport participation, and personal development, and monitor student-athlete academic success.
Assist in fundraising for men’s and women’s swimming.
Bachelor's degree.
Possess avalid driver’s license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and an acceptable motor vehicle record is required.
Participationand/or coaching experience at the collegiate level.
Proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student athletes academically and athletically.
Ability to efficiently operate associated computer software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Compliance Assistant, FrontRush, HyTek Team Manager, HyTek Meet Manager, etc...).
Ability to learn and comply with all policies and regulations of Rollins College, the NCAA, and the SSC.
Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the college community and the public. Interactions will include in-person contact and written communication.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to achieve certification to drive student-athletes to team athletic events.
A successful candidate will exemplify leadership in the management of a successful collegiate swimming program. The candidate should show a strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate coaching.
Master’s degree.
Lifeguard/CPR/AED Certification.
On-campus-based position working in a fast-paced and high-energy work environment.
Ability to work many nights and weekends during the sports season.
Flexible to ever-changing schedules and needs associated with intercollegiate athletics.
Work may require some visual strain.
Ability to lift objects of 50 lbs.
