• Recruits prospective student-athletes who demonstrate the ability to succeed both academically and athletically, in compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA rules.20%

Program Administration & Operations

• Assists the Head Baseball Coach with a variety of administrative duties related to the daily operation of the baseball program.
• Performs other related duties as assigned in support of program needs and departmental objectives.20%
  

External Relations, Fundraising & Media Engagement

• Actively participates in fundraising and development activities in collaboration with the Head Baseball Coach and Athletics Director.
• Represents the baseball program through appropriate engagement with the news media, as determined by the Head Baseball Coach and the Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations.15%
  

Student-Athlete Support & Institutional Representation

• Promotes the mission, values, and reputation of the university and athletics department through professional conduct and engagement with campus and community stakeholders.
• Supports student-athlete welfare and academic success through mentorship and appropriate collaboration with academic support services.10%
  

Minimum and Desired Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 1 – 2 year's NCAA Division I coaching or equivalent professional baseball experience.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules.
  

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree.

• Exceptionally strong organizational skills.
• Ability to assist with budgetary management for department.
• Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Texas State University System, and Lamar.
• University rules and regulations required. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination.
  

Physical Requirements: This position required sitting and standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 25 pounds while performing the essential functions as described within the essential job functions.
