In collaboration with the Men's Soccer Head Coach, the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach will be charged with assisting the UMBC Men's Soccer Team, and is expected to identify, evaluate and recruit student-athletes that can be successful athletically, academically and socially in a Division I environment.
Specific duties include: player development (practice planning and skill instruction, game management, attention to academics and commitment to community service); recruiting; assisting with administrative responsibilities (scheduling, team travel and balancing the budget); cultivating relationships with alumni; working with Athletics Department staff on fundraising, special events and appearances; and performing other duties as assigned. It is expected that the successful candidate will abide by all written policies and procedures of the Department of Athletics, UMBC, the America East Conference (AEC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and one year of coaching experience.
Three years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
Playing experience at the collegiate level preferred.
Individuals with knowledge or understanding of mid-major universities are highly desired.
A background check will be required.
