Georgia Military College, a two-year college located in Milledgeville, Ga., is seeking a part-time assistant coach for its men’s soccer program. This position is a 12-month position and reports to the men’s soccer head coach. GMC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA), which is also known as Region 17 in the NJCAA.

Description

Georgia Military College, a two-year college located in Milledgeville, Ga., is seeking a part-time assistant coach for its men’s soccer program. This position is a 12-month position and reports to the men’s soccer head coach. GMC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA), which is also known as Region 17 in the NJCAA.

Major Responsibilities:
* Instructs student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success.
* Assists in the recruitment of future student athletes.
* Assists in the necessary preparation to hold practices and games.
* Knowledge of field maintenance for games and practices.
* Â Attends staff meetings for the purpose of planning and evaluating the program.
* Promotes and encourages fair play, good sportsmanship, and ethical standards of conduct both on and off the field.
* Assists with maintaining a yearly inventory of all new and used equipment
* Performs any other duties as assigned by the Head Coach of the sport.

1.   Knowledgeable of current rules, techniques, and procedures required for the activity.
2.   Must be organized and punctual.
3.   Conducts oneself in a manner that exemplifies self-control and the promotion of goodÂ

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Must have a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Coaching experience in soccer at high school or college level
• Experience in college recruiting
