Skidmore College’s Athletic, Fitness and Recreation Department invites applicants for a part-time, regular (9 month) Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with planning team practices and individual training sessions
Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes
Assist with coaching dual matches and tournaments
Mentoring a diverse and vibrant roster of student-athletes
Creating social media content
Analyzing match and practice videos/scouting opponents
Communicate and develop a rapport with student-athletes, families, faculty, and alumni
Facility home game management and/or equipment room responsibilities during the academic year
Ensure that the policies, procedures and regulations of organizations to which the College belongs including the NCAA and Liberty League are adhered to.
All other duties as assigned and therefore deemed necessary and appropriate by the head coach.
Work hours that may be diverse and long, including evenings and weekends for instruction, team travel, recruiting and scouting. Time will be spent in various environments, including indoor and outdoor facilities.
Qualifications:
An Associate degree or equivalent with a minimum of three years collegiate tennis coaching and/or playing experience is required.
Candidate should be a positive, energetic, and trustworthy leader with strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work a flexible schedule.
A valid driver’s license and CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain) are required.
Salary will be $15,000. There are potential opportunities for additional sources of income, including teaching youth and adult tennis lessons/camps throughout the year.
Anticipated start date will be September 1, 2024.
