Job Description:
Assistant Men's and Women's Cross Country, Track and Field Coach
Marietta College seeks a full-time assistant coach for its indoor and outdoor track and field and cross-country teams. The position will assist the entire program, but candidates who have experience as a multi athlete or coaching multiple events, including throws, will be given strong consideration. The position is designed to provide coaches with a rich blend of coaching and administrative experience at a competitive NCAA, Division III private college. This 10-month,full-time position includes the following job duties:
*Teach proper techniques in position groups assigned by the head coach and assess skill development. Preference is for strong knowledge of throws, jumps, hurdles or sprints.
*Instruct concepts of overall physical health and safety for both individuals and the team.
*Educate students on NCAA Division III rules and Marietta College Athletics Department Learning Outcomes
*Recruit future student athletes, using metrics established by the head coach, who understand and are prepared for the demands presented by small, private-college, non-scholarship athletic programs
*Monitor team members' academic progress in consultation with the Academic Resource Center
*Promote track meets to the local community in consultation with Sports Information and Student Development.
*Create highlight videos.
*Manage social media accounts
*Teach a lifetime skill class in the Physical Education department
*Other duties as assigned for administration of the athletic department may include, but not be limited to: game day administration, facility supervision, intramural planning and supervision, sports information assistance, or other.
Requirements:
Qualifications
*Bachelor's degree and collegiate cross-country, track and field experience
*Preference will be given to candidates with USATF coaching education designation.
*Knowledge of FinishLynx and Hy-tek meet management software.
*Knowledge of recruiting software, scouting software and Microsoft Office products.
*Interpersonal communication and judgement necessary to successfully teach and motivate student athletes.
*Professionally role model for colleagues and prospective families demonstrated by being a player within the work place.
*Current valid driver's license and successful completion of a background check.
