Definition of Classification:
Under the supervision of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for furthering the mission of the University, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Bulldog Track & Field program. The Assistant Coach must comply with all University, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) rules and policies. The full-time Assistant Coach will serve as the Operations Coordinator for the Track & Field and Cross-Country programs as well as support, as assigned, the head coach in the planning, administering, and evaluating of various aspects of the operations of those programs.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a variety of settings, including outdoor athletic fields, gymnasiums, and occasionally in a standard office environment. The role requires exposure to varying weather conditions during practices and competitions. Travel is required for team events, recruiting, and professional development. Evening and weekend hours are common, especially during the competitive season.
Physical Demands:
The position requires frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, running, and demonstrating sport-specific movements. Must be able to lift and carry sports equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. The coach must be able to clearly communicate with student-athletes and staff in both loud outdoor environments and in office or meeting settings. Visual acuity is required to assess athletic performance and ensure safety. Occasional climbing, bending, or kneeling may be necessary when setting up equipment or facilities.
