Job Details:

Purpose

The Assistant Coach of the Pro Group will deliver high-performance coaching and operational support for Longhorn Aquatics professional swimmers by assisting with training design, competition logistics, and athlete development.

Responsibilities

• Assist pro group coaching staff with workout supervision and development.
• Travel with pro group to assigned training trips and competitions.
• Coach senior or age group level swimmers as assigned.
• Manage pro group competition entries and logistical needs.

Required Qualifications

USA Swimming certified coach. Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or similar. Experience coaching professional or Olympic level swimmers. Experience coaching in a university or collegiate setting.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or similar. Experience as a collegiate athlete.   

Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

• Monday-Saturday as designated by training schedule.
• Weekend and evening work and travel as needed for competitions and training.

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
