The Assistant Coach, Men’s Water Polo will assist The Dunlevie Family Director of Men’s Water Polo with recruiting, coaching, and developing a championship caliber team. The assistant coach is responsible for operating within the rules of the Pac-12 Conference and NCAA, as well as all institutional policies.

The Assistant Coach, Men’s Water Polo will assist The Dunlevie Family Director of Men’s Water Polo with recruiting, coaching, and developing a championship caliber team. The assistant coach is responsible for operating within the rules of the Pac-12 Conference and NCAA, as well as all institutional policies.
Your responsibilities include:
• Assist with all aspects of game plan preparation, practice organization, and off-season training programs.

• Assist with scheduling of regular season games
• Assist with coordinating official visits including activity planning, host coordination, hotel accommodations, meals, travel and flight arrangements, transportation, and campus meetings
• Serve as the liaison to external relations, equipment room, and other Athletics Department groups. Interact and engage with Stanford faculty.
• Market and promote water polo National/Olympic Team events to showcase Avery Aquatic Center
• Monitor NCAA Compliance issues and work with the compliance office to coordinate paperwork for early entry candidates
• Assist coaching staff with preparation of scouting reports
• Participate in pre-game chalk talks
• Provide administrative assistance at practice as needed (running clocks, stats, video)
• Execute and coordinate camps and clinics
• Oversee and manage program events including community outreach and team banquets
• Maintain working knowledge of relevant NCAA rules. Responsible for taking and passing the NCAA Coaches’ Recruiting Exam annually.
• Other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor’s degree and three years of coaching experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
• Ability to understand and comply with all rules and regulations of the Stanford University, Pac-12 Conference and NCAA.
• Computer literacy with common office applications such as Word, Excel and Filemaker Pro, as well as working knowledge of video editing applications.
• Ability to monitor and adjust program budget.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with a variety of staff and personnel in the Department of Athletics, the University, and the community.

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that his/her/their involvement with Athletics Department activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations.
The expected pay for this position is $65,560-66,700 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
