Assistant Coach (Women's Basketball Varsity Reserve)
Analyzes performance and instructs student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Recruit student athletes. Observes players while they perform to determine need for individual or team improvement. Coach players individually or in groups, demonstrating techniques.
Principle duties include serving as the varsity reserve coach to include practice and skill development sessions and will have some responsibilities with the varsity program. Will assist the head coach in scouting, talent assessment and recruiting to reach optimal roster numbers. Will help monitor and support the academic success and retention of student-athletes. Will analyze player performance and instruct student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Will observe players while they perform to determine need for individual or team improvement. Will coach players individually or in groups, demonstrating techniques. Will provide training, direction, and encouragement in preparation of student-athletes in teambuilding, team strategy, and sportsmanship. The Assistant Coach will be expected to be a positive role model for student-athletes and have a commitment to the College’s mission and values. Other duties may be assigned by the head coach (i.e. assisting in arranging community service activities for the team, assisting with fundraising, planning of camps, and participating in Champions of Character initiatives).

Bachelor’s degree plus coaching experience. Must have knowledge of NCAA or NAIA (as applicable) rules and regulations.
Master’s degree preferred.
Previous playing experience preferred.
Strong communication, administrative and organizational skills strongly preferred.
