The Assistant Gymnastics Coach will assist the head coach in the overall operations of the women's gymnastics program. This position will perform coaching duties as assigned by the head coach; assist with administrative, community outreach, and public relations duties as assigned by the head coach. Responsibilities may include team warm-ups, scheduling, strength and conditioning, choreography, spotting, meet management, individual conferences, and all other areas associated with administering a collegiate gymnastics program. This position will also assist in all facets of the process to recruit athletically and academically qualified student-athletes. An assistant coach in the Fisk University Department of Athletics is expected to reflect and carry out the wishes of the head coach of the particular sport he/she works within as long as that vision or expectation is not in conflict with the policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the Department, the University, or any regulatory body to which the University’s Athletics program subscribes.

Attend and work all home games, matches, and meets when you are not competing. Attend staff, admissions, athletic conferences, and institutional meetings/events when required. Knowledge and adherence to Fisk University Athletics Departmental Handbook, Conference rules/regulations regarding recruiting, eligibility, competition and compliance. Promote and foster a positive learning experience for student-athletes. Other duties as assigned.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work nights and weekends. Assist in the organization and direction of all activities of the gymnastics team. Assist in the recruitment of prospective athletes to the University. Coach team members individually and in groups, demonstrating techniques. Report to one broad area of specific responsibility as assigned. Assist with assessments of student-athletes and determining areas of improvement. Assist with the development of content strategy. Assist with summer camps and fundraising activities. Perform related departmental duties as required.
