Stanford Athletics is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Coach, Women’s Lightweight Rowing. The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Associate Head Coach, including but not limited to coaching the women’s lightweight rowing program as well as assisting with the administration of recruiting, training, practice, fundraising, budget management, weight management, and team travel. The Assistant Coach also has the opportunity to participate in summer camp operations, consistent with institutional and NCAA regulations. This is a one year fixed-term position.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Help plan and organize team training and practice sessions, and use video analysis to provide feedback to players, within NCAA and IRA regulations and with respect for the academic demands of Stanford student-athletes.
  • Support and facilitate a healthy team culture that supports the development of grounded self-awareness and growth mindset, selfless teamwork, personal and team integrity, and competitive greatness.
  • Assist with identifying, assessing, and recruiting top student-athletes to compete at Stanford, within the context of applicable NCAA and IRA regulations and University admission expectations.
  • Help arrange for transportation of team and equipment to and from practices and competitions.
  • Assist with the organization required with visiting teams, recruits and other parties.
  • Participate in Department of Athletics education and activities, including regular coaches meetings, all-staff meetings, and compliance and other education sessions.
  • Participate in and / or support alumni outreach, fundraising, and other relevant relationship management activities on behalf of the program and the department.
  • Be in charge of equipment inventory and control for the program and serve as the facilities and events manager/liaison for the program.
