Job Description

The Assistant Coach of Women’s Volleyball is responsible for assigned coaching responsibilities for the team. The Assistant Coach is responsible for being in a supporting role to the Head Coach. Positive role model for players by being present, energetic, positive, composed, selfless, and prepared. This person must represent our team core values, commitment, integrity, family oriented, and show respect/equality.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Assist with all duties as assigned by the Head Coach to help ensure compliance with

NCAA

•Competent and efficient at individualized and team instruction with emphasis on teaching, training and skill development associated with the sport.

•Assist in planning and implementing in technical and tactical training sessions.

•Assist with maintaining recruiting data and scheduling recruiting visits on and off campus.

•Practice prep, practice planning and setup, including equipment maintenance and management.

•Travel coordination for games as well as coordinating meals.

•Proficient in volleyball related platforms such as volleymetrics, Hudl and UniversityAthlete.

•Championship mindset.

•Regular attendance on campus.

•Comfortable teaching P.E. electives or possibly lecturing under the scope of Sport Management and Exercise Science due to our department requirements.

The Assistant Coach of Women’s Volleyball will also teach as required. New student recruitment responsibilities include: Per

NCAA

regulations, recruiting contact logs to prospective students will be updated monthly and be available for review; New student recruitment log will be submitted; this log should include all activities that are part of new student recruitment that the employee engaged in over the past year.Evaluation Criteria for student Academic Advisement:

1. The primary purpose of Study Hall is to assist

Pembroke students with providing an academic environment conducive to study, thereby giving rise to academic success. Study hall is open and encouraged for all

UNCP

students and is required for specific populations (ie: academic probation status, select student-athletes, various academic or social clubs). Athletics coaches will be assigned to administer evening study hall sessions throughout the fall and spring semester. During study hall, coaches will ensure a conducive environment for study for all participants, ensure attendees swipe their BraveCard in and out of the study hall session, and connect students with applicable resources on an as needed and requested basis. Where applicable, coaches can provide career workshops and/or assist with academic outreach efforts coordinated via the center for student success.

1. Study Hall hours administered by Coaches are subject to change based on campus need but forecasted as Sunday 3pm-6pm, and Monday-Thursday 5pm-8pm.

2. Study Hall coordination includes monitoring attendance and conduct while assisting students with being connected with other Center for Student Success resources like the Writing Center, Tutoring opportunities, and Tutor.com resources.
