The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach with directing, supervising and implementing the duties and functions of the women's volleyball program. This position will have both in and off-season hours: In-Season Hours - 12-14 weeks (Depending on post-season play), 12-18 hours per week. Off-Season Hours - Possibly 40 hours total.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED Required
Valid Driver's License Required
EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated expertise in Women's Volleyball. Required
Prior coaching experience at the high school or college level. Preferred
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Ability to provide instruction, training, and motivation necessary for the athletes to compete to the best of their ability. Required
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required
Developed organizational skills. Required
Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or willing to acquire. Required
Ability to work within the parameters established by the Head Coach and within the responsibilities as defined in the position description. Required
Responsibilities
Be thoroughly familiar and complying with all College, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) policies and procedures, and United East.
Assist in coaching the necessary skills, techniques and physical conditioning sufficient to enable each athlete to compete in the women's volleyball program safely and to the best of her abilities.
Assist with the on-site supervision during all practice and game situations.
Exhibit a high level of expertise in volleyball; seek self-improvement when possible.
Drive a College vehicle to and from sporting events, as needed.
Assume Head Coach responsibilities in the short-term absence of the Head Coach.
