Description

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University is seeking a highly energetic, and ambitious professional to serve as a part-time Assistant Competitive Cheerleading Coach. Reporting to the Head Cheerleading Coach, the assistant coach will embark upon providing leadership, management, and strategic planning for the cheerleading program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Support the academic success of all student-athletes and demonstrate a strong commitment to their personal and professional development 
  • Assist in the planning, management, evaluation, operation, and coordination of all aspects of the Cheerleading program,  
  • Supervise and organize practice sessions, game-day coaching operations, scheduling, and team travel 
  • Maintain proper and appropriate discipline among students during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off campus 
  • Actively recruit prospective students of the highest quality in order to contribute to the program’s success 
  • Engage in team fundraising activities and alumni engagement events 
  • Take advantage of professional development opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as further success of the Cheerleading Program.  Attend campus, conference, regional, and national meetings as necessary 
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, Marian University, Crossroads Athletic Conference, and the NAIA policies and procedures
