This is an 11-month position that has been created from the
NCAA
Division
III
Strategic Alliance Matching Grant. This grant position is funded by the
NCAA
for 5 years, with the option to become an extended position of the athletic department thereafter. The main responsibilities of the position include:
a.
DEI
initiatives: The Assistant Compliance Coordinator, Manager of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will be a multi-faceted position. The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with various departments on campus for
DEI
efforts. The main aspects of this job responsibility include staying up to date with all
NCAA
DEI
planning, campus
DEI
efforts, and developing ways to implement these in the athletic department. Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:
i. Plan, organize, and implement major department events that promote
DEI
ii. Serve on all department hiring committees as well as various other campus search committees
iii. Facilitate cross-campus relationships to develop and implement ways to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within our athletic department as well as the entire campus
iv. Work closely with the Affirmative Action/Title IX Officer on all relevant department-related issues
v. Attend the
NCAA
Inclusion Forum
b.

Compliance and Eligibility: The candidate will be responsible for assisting the compliance officer with all
NCAA
compliance and eligibility requirements
c. Athletic Administration Duties: Various administrative duties (serve on Intercollegiate Athletic Board (
IAB
), institutional committees, serve as game day administrator for some home athletic events, and provide administrative/operational/rental support to the AD & Associate AD, serve as a
SAM
(student-athlete mentor)
Required:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 1-2 years experience as a collegiate athlete or 1-2 years experience within a collegiate athletic department.
