POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a part-time, 10-month position. For part-time employees, total hours worked must be equal to or less than (29) hours per week. Upon a successful evaluation, you will be considered for contract renewal. Evening and weekend work is required as job duties demand.

Compensation:
$2,000

JOB SUMMARY :

Under the direction of the Head Coach, the individual is responsible for assisting in the successful operation, coordination, management, evaluation and supervision of all aspects of the dance program. This includes supervising all practices and contests, recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, and conducting all activities within the rules and regulations of Ramapo College.

DUTIES** :**

• Primary responsibility is assisting the head coach in instructing / teaching our student-athletes how to perform sports specific skills in dance.
• Assist the head coach in supervising all practices and contests.
• Conduct all activities within the rules and regulations established by Ramapo College, the NCAA, and other conferences.
• Assist the head coach in fundraising initiatives.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and assist in setting up game/field equipment.
• Have knowledge of and ability to instantly implement Athletics’ Emergency Medical Plan.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Required to work Saturdays, Sundays and evenings as needed.
• Ensures that the dance team comply with all safety requirements as set forth by Ramapo College and AACA.
• Helps the head coach to ensure that the dance team comply with all rules.
• Assists in planning choreography and skills development.
• Assists head coach in preparing for competition.
• Cheers for home women’s and men’s basketball games.
• Other duties as assigned.

confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization’s mission essential IT assets, regardless of
role. Individuals in this role are expected to apply appropriate safeguards, participate in required security
awareness training, and promptly report potential security incidents in accordance with institutional
policies.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have at least two years’ experience coaching high school or college teams.
• Must demonstrate ability to recruit and retain dance team members.
• Must be willing to support the needs of the program and be flexible with scheduling.
• Must be able to communicate objectively with team.
• Requires a commitment to excellence on game day.
• Helps in mentoring our dance team.
• Commitment to Division III philosophy of athletics.

EDUCATION** :** High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE** :** Successful collegiate or high school coaching experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES** :**

Must demonstrate excellent leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as computer skills.

First Aid / CPR / AED Certified
