Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director of Business Operations (AAD), primarily responsible for the accurate accounting of the Athletic Department's financial and fiscal operational activities. This position will coordinate and manage financial processes of the Athletic Department and Ticket Office; supervise, review, and approve staff prepared reconciliations, reports and journal entries; review transactions ensuring accurate reporting for NCAA, MTSU and Conference USA; oversee Athletic Procurement Card processes, prepare budget analysis and projections; monitor and reconcile multiple fund and operational accounts; responsible for employment contract data base and processes for extra compensation payments ; supervise Athletic Business Analyst and serve as liaison between Athletics, Ticket Office, and the MTSU Foundation regarding donations; Onboard new athletic staff as it relates to financial processes; Responsible for in-depth and ongoing training of (7) office coordinators; Prepare quarterly/annual President’s report; prepare year-end financial reports, notes, schedules as assigned for NCAA audit; responsible for Freedom of Information Requests; research questions and provide information to athletic staff, other campus departments, and internal and external auditors as necessary; Responsible for maintaining financial Records Retention; perform other related duties as assigned. Work home football games and other occasional night or weekend work required.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant area with previous accounting experience.
Five (5) years full time, progressively responsible experience in Accounting or related area that includes three (3) of the five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity. Preference will be given to business operations experience within an intercollegiate athletic department or higher education Business Office.
Five (5) years progressively responsible business operations experience within an intercollegiate athletics department preferred. Prior Higher Education experience preferred. Master's degree in Accounting.
