The Assistant Director, Compliance is responsible for supporting the monitoring and education activities of the University of Arizona Athletics Compliance Office as well as the enforcement of NCAA, Big-12 Conference and University of Arizona rules and regulations.

This position requires the ability work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

Contribute to maintaining strong institutional control in all aspects of NCAA, Big-12 Conference, and University of Arizona Athletics rules compliance.

Support the documentation and monitoring of activities and NCAA requirements associated with Bylaws 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17.

Serve as a primary liaison for Bylaws 16 and 17.

Assist with maintaining accurate and updated monitoring systems and databases.

Manage complimentary admissions review process for prospective and current student-athlete as well as high school and two-year college coaches.

Coordinate student-athlete employment monitoring efforts.

Manage promotional activity and donation requests.

Assist with monitoring of NIL activities.

Support department-wide rules education initiatives, including providing interpretations to various campus constituencies.

Distribute and monitor annual NCAA and institutional student-athlete paperwork.

Assist with the development and implementation of departmental practices and procedures.

Maintain current knowledge of NCAA, Big-12, and University of Arizona policies, bylaws, interpretations and case precedent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience with and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

Excellent communication skills.

Experience working with various NCAA applications (e.g., NCAA Eligibility Center, Compliance Assistant, RSRO, LSDBi).

Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to plan, establish priorities and successfully manage multiple priority projects.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, and project a positive, professional attitude.

Ability and desire to accurately perform detail-oriented tasks and work with basic office software and database programs.

Competent with computer software, such as Microsoft Office, Internet and e-mail.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.

Three years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced graduate degree including a Master's or Juris Doctorate degree. • One year of experience working in an NCAA compliance environment. • Experience working with ARMS and applicable NCAA applications (e.g., NCAA Eligibility Center, Compliance Assistant, RSRO, LSDBi).
