Blackburn College, a unique four-year liberal arts college with a one-of-a-kind student-managed Work Program in Carlinville, Illinois, invites applicants to apply for the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications Communications-Content Creation. This is a vital member of the College’s collaborative and creative Office of Marketing & Public Relations (OMPR) and reports to the Director of Marketing & Public Relations. This position helps tell the College’s story to prospective students, current students, alumni, and the wider community. The role has a strong focus in Athletics, supporting departmental storytelling efforts, highlighting the student-athlete experience as well as coordinating Athletics marketing.
The Assistant Director contributes to written, visual, and digital storytelling across various platforms. Responsibilities include drafting press releases, institutional feature stories, student and alumni profiles, and athletics-related features; updating web content; assisting with social media planning and execution; and supporting video, photography, and other multimedia projects. The position collaborates with colleagues in Academics, Admissions, Advancement, Athletics, Student Life, and the Work Program to share content that strengthens recruitment, engagement, alumni relations, and institutional awareness. The role also contributes to institutional publications, including the alumni magazine and major College communications.

Preferred Qualifications:
Salary range for this position is $50,000-$56,000.
