Under administrative direction from the Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success, the Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Success will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Athlete Success. This position will provide comprehensive academic support for teams as assigned, execute the program goals and objectives of the department, work with academically at-risk students from diverse backgrounds, and collaborate with coaches, support staff, and administration to simultaneously assure the program’s success
Support academic programs by providing learning skill techniques, time management and related academic information to students; evaluating students’ academic abilities and skills; assisting students in developing academic plans.
Implements new student orientation programs and advising activities.
Coordinates advising functions by serving as a liaison between students, faculty, academic departments and other campus services.
Participate in the transfer and initial eligibility certification process for incoming student-athletes and assist with the continuing eligibility status for all student-athletes each semester.
Assist in monitoring academic progress towards degree of student-athletes and
NCAA
eligibility
Contribute to data collection as it relates to the completion of the annual
NCAA
reports such as, Academic Progress Report (
APR
), Graduation Success Rate (
GSR
), and other reports as needed.
Coordinate efforts with coaches with respect to evaluation and learning assessment for prospective student- athletes in all sports programs.
Serves as liaison for colleges and academic departments by interpreting academic policies, procedure, and curriculum issues.
Provide timely and accurate mandated forms, reports, assessments, and audits as required.
Contribute to
NCAA
and Northeast Conference waivers, petitions, and appeals in collaboration with the Faculty Athletics Representative or Associate Athletics Director for Student for Success where appropriate.
Assist with study hall programming for student-athletes, including tracking study hall requirements
May supervise and/or train other staff members or students.
Other Duties as Assigned.
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in college athletics or at a professional level.
Master’s degree
Prior experience at the
NCAA
Division I level
Excellent organizational skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse community.
Ability to effectively use computer application programs and related computer software packages (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, database, internet)
Knowledge of and compliance with
NCAA
rules is a condition of employment in this position.
Ability to work independently and complete assignments without direct supervision.
Ability to set priorities and complete assignments accurately within designated timelines.

Ability to work nights and weekends for

Athletics and other University sponsored events
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with the University’s vehicle use policy
Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential functions.
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Office, classroom, group setting environment.
Non-traditional hours and travel may be required
