Gettysburg College, located in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. The College seeks candidates who have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues and community members. Gettysburg is an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences college, which enrolls approximately 2,400 primarily residential students.
The College is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual who has a strong collaborative and student-focused background to serve in this position. This is a full-time, 12-month administrative position, reporting to the Director of Athletic Communications. The assistant director of athletic communications will assist the director in providing public relation efforts of a comprehensive

III
athletics program with 24 varsity sports. The office publicizes and promotes the athletics program to local, regional and national audiences. The position involves working weekends, evenings and some holidays. Some travel may be required.
Duties include:
Serve as the primary media contact for several sports, including capturing in-game statistics, internet video stream and hosting visiting media.
Assist with the maintenance of the College’s athletics website, gettysburgsports.com, with schedules and results, game stories, statistics, student-athlete profiles, rosters, photos and video.
Assist with creation of video content and take photographs.
Assist with the communication and reporting requirements to the Centennial Conference,
NCAA
and other opponents.
Assist with the management of all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
Assist with the production of printed materials.
Assist with the hiring, training and management of student staff in the office and during contests.
Assist with the Hall of Athletic Honor research and selection.
Assist with creation of specialized graphic content.
Assist in the creation of compelling visualize storytelling to engage multiple constituencies through the use of text , photos and/or videos.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with previous athletic communications experience (one to three years) as a student and/or professional. The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, be able to handle multiple tasks, and understand
NCAA
rules and regulations. Knowledge and experience with, or ability to learn, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Statcrew, Sidearm or other web platforms, and a knowledge base of playing and statistical rules is preferred.
