Job Summary

 

This position will serve as a member of the Department of Athletics Leadership Executive Team, and report to the Director of Athletics. This position directs departments external operations that will advance the university¿s mission and has direct supervision over the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).  

Responsibilities

 

• Manages department external operations. (40%)
  • Oversees external organization of the department and events, ensuring consistency with the overall mission, goals and objective of the University, PBC, and NCAA.
  • Manages the organization, cultivation, and stewardship of the Canes360 booster club membership and corporate partnerships.
  • Oversees the planning and execution of signature fundraising events.
  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards revenue generation opportunities, major donors and prospects including individuals, corporations, and foundations through visits and other forms of direct personal contact in accordance with performance targets set forth by Georgia Southwestern State University and the GSW foundation.

 

• Management of the Category 5 Wellness Program (30%)
  • Responsible for the organization, planning, and execution of the Category 5 Wellness Program for the Department of Athletics and Sumter County/Southwest Region.
  • Oversee and collaborates on funding requests and grant writing.

 

• Oversees campus and community partnerships (20%)
  • Serves on university committees and acts as University liaison to the GSW Foundation and other departments as assigned by Director of Athletics.
  • Supervises SAAC and advises on implementation of initiatives.
  • Responsible for the event planning and execution of the Student-Athlete Awards Show, GESPYs.
  • Organizes and assigns community service and engagement events.

 

• Other duties assigned (10%)
  • Possibility to serve as the Senior Woman Administrator.
  • Manage additional areas of responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Required Qualifications

 

• Bachelor¿s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required.
• More than two-three years of related experience required.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver¿s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

• Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics.
• Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics.
• Knowledge of budget development and management principles.
• Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
• Skill to identify, cultivate, and steward partnerships.
• Skill in the delegation of responsibility and authority.
• Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
• Skill in decision making and problem solving.
• Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
