The Assistant Director of Athletics Communications is an essential member of the Sports Information Department within UWG Athletics, providing elevated support to the Sports Information Director with developing and implementing the overall strategic communications strategy of the UWG Athletic Department. This includes the UWG Athletic Department digital presence with uwgathletics.com and all social media interaction. This strategy includes the promotion of teams, student-athletes, and coaches within the UWG Athletic Department.

Day-to-day operations of athletics communications office: Assists in all aspects of athletic communications, public relations and the general promotion of the athletic department through various mediums and platforms - Serves as the primary media relations contact for specific sports, as assigned. - Acts as a liaison between the department, the conference office and the NCAA; as well as in collaboration with local, regional and national media to tell the story of UWG Athletics - Fulfills requests to provide rosters, statistics, and other related information to athletic communications colleagues, external media, and NCAA stats portal. - Writes game notes, game recaps and player/team award articles for uwgathletics.com. - Assists in the maintenance and upkeep of UWGathletics.com, ensuring accuracy and completeness of available information.

A minimum of 1-year experience working in a Sports Information office with proficient knowledge of Sidearm Sports Content Management System and proficient skills using Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with Live Stats Software is also desired. Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, X, and Instagram are required. Excellent writing skills and solid command of the written English language and speaking skills with clear enunciation. Experience working in a team environment with coaches, student-athletes and administrators is desired.
