Job Description:
FIT Athletics & Recreation, an NJCAA DIII Region 15 Athletic Conference member institution, aims to support Fashion Institute of Technology in its mission to produce self-reliant graduates who are poised for a lifetime of success, and who will be a credit to the institution, their communities and the world. The department mission is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for student involvement, learning and school spirit opportunities enriching both body and mind as a way of promoting holistic health and wellbeing.
Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation, the Assistant Director will assist with overall administration of department functions. Specifically, the Assistant Director will be responsible for compliance, scheduling and facility management, and will play a key role in implementing / assessing special projects and initiatives aimed at department growth and student development. The role is critical to the support of FIT's Future//Forward Strategic Plan.

Salary
Salary: $76,915.17 - $85,513.87 per year; commensurate with experience and qualifications. Step increments per Salary Schedule 93C, after one year of service and annually thereafter.
Terms
The Assistant Director of Athletics & Recreation position is an auxiliary, at-will position, funded by student fees.
Work Schedule
Days/Hours: M-F, 9am-5pm, in person; evenings and weekends as needed; work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The working conditions for this position will be primarily in an office space but may include outdoor, or noisy indoor environments such as gymnasiums, fitness centers and fitness classrooms when required. The physical requirement for this position will require frequent sitting, occasional standing, occasional bending or twisting, frequent walking, occasional pulling, pushing, or reaching, occasional use of hands to handle objects or tools, and occasionally lifting 10 lbs. or less.
