The primary role of the Assistant Director of Athletics, Ticket Sales & Operations is to lead, develop, coordinate and execute all departmental ticketing initiatives. This position will also ensure that the ticket operation is closely aligned with and supports the overall external relations strategy of the department.
• Oversight of ticket operations, including the Manager of Box Office Operations, as well as student and casual hourly staff
• Oversight of office operations and gameday operations for ticketed events
• Document all policies and procedures for ticket operations to allow for shared responsibility of tasks
• Implementation of customer service training for all staff in and around game day operations
• Working in collaboration with both external relations staff to execute short-term and long-term initiatives
• Implementation of the department’s strategic plan related to ticket operations
• Development of an overall ticket sales strategy with the goals of maximizing attendance for all ticketed events
• Support the development and execution of a group sales strategy all ticketed events and special events
• Implementation of a postseason event sales strategy where applicable
• Targeted email outreach to fans encouraging the purchase of tickets to upcoming games
• Development of attendance and financial projections for all ticketed events
• Budget management to include ticket operations and ticketed event sales reconciliations
• Oversight of the ticketing system database, including generating more robust reports to drive strategy
• Lead the process of segmenting the ticketing database to more effectively market to and interact with the Princeton fan base and surrounding community
• Management of a systematic and strategic survey process to gauge fan satisfaction both in-season and out of season to assist in enhancing the game day experience for Princeton fans
• Assist in the compilation and analysis of survey data
• Benchmarking the Ivy League and local competitors to determine opportunities in the market
• Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• 3 years of management experience
• Demonstrated skills at building collaborative relationships with internal colleagues
• Strong customer service skills
• Experience working with a ticketing system, preferably within an athletics system
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet expected deadlines and schedules
• Ability to work nights and weekends
• Effective time management skills
• Qualified individuals should be able to articulate a strong commitment to diversity and have the ability to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds
• Adhere to Ivy League, ECAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in overseeing athletic gameday ticket operations
• Computer knowledge including Excel, PhotoShop, Illustrator and Publisher.
• Advanced degree/certifications.
