Athletic Administration
The Assistant Director of Development is a professional fundraising position that will focus on generating financial support in all areas of the CofC Athletic Fund which include the Cougar Club Annual Fund, Sport Specific Donations, and Special Event Fundraisers. This position will be responsible for managing a portfolio of donors to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts that align with the Athletic Department strategies and objectives. Additionally, this position will work closely with the Assistant Athletic Director for Development in the fulfillment of all donor benefits such as premium seating, parking, hospitality and membership services.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. A master’s degree is preferred but not required. 1-3 years of experience in collegiate athletic development or related field. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Proven history of building lasting relationships with donors, prospects, fans and the public.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills ensuring the highest quality of customer service via phone, email, and in-person.
Experience showing the ability to generate philanthropic revenue in a collegiate athletics development setting or similar field.
Ability to prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and perform tasks independently.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to multi-task effectively.
Computer literacy with Microsoft Office products as well as donor software (i.e. Paciolan)
This position will require night and weekend availability as well as the ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
