Overview
The Assistant Director of Fan Engagement will support the Assistant Athletic Director, Marketing in developing inclusive, strategic marketing and promotion plans, managing in-game elements, producing innovative revenue generation strategies, and creatively enhancing the Yale Athletics fan experience. The Assistant Director of Fan Engagement will be responsible for developing an intentional engagement strategy and marketing plan for Yale Athletics with a focus on Yale Campus Community attendance and engagement, create graphics and videos for use on social media and LED videoboards to enhance the overall Yale Athletics’ digital presence and to accompany the marketing plans, serve as the game day producer and director by creating and executing game scripts, rundowns, and playlists, overseeing videoboard and audio operators, and managing overall game experience for select Division I sports. The Assistant Director of Fan Engagement will oversee hiring, training, and scheduling of mascot performers, and assist with hiring, training, management, and evaluation of interns and student employees ensures positive relationships between the Athletics department and key stakeholders, to include alumni, local community, fans, parents, faculty and other University constituents. Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Prior marketing and game operations experience in college or professional athletics preferred. Experience with branding, promotions, marketing initiatives and content creation preferred. Community engagement/outreach experience preferred
Principal Responsibilities
1. Assist the Sr. Associate AD for Fan Engagement with the development and implementation of Yale’s Athletics’ digital presence through marketing initiatives centered on social media, email marketing and website development. 2. Responsible for effective game day execution for marketing at select sporting events, including promotions, giveaways and video production. 3. Responsible for effective marketing of promotions and events via all channels and media social media, print, electronic media, etc. 4. Develop effective relationships with fans and work to build a fan centered gameday. 5. Create effective relationships with fans and work to build a fan culture. 6. Responsible for cultivating fan engagement on all social media sites including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc. 7. Responsible for effective management, hiring, training and evaluating of marketing interns. 8. Responsible for effective collaboration with campus constituents in support of marketing and promotion of athletics events. 9. Liaison to the Yale Pep Band. 10. Responsible for all development, production and execution of creative concepts for a. marketing campaigns for ticket sales of all sports in accordance with strategic plan, including printed, digital and video elements. 11. Accountable for maintaining compliance with to all relevant governing bodies to include: a. NCAA b. specific conference c. athletic department d. university policies 12. Ensures positive relationships between the Athletics department and key stakeholders, to include alumni, local community, fans, parents, faculty and other University constituents. 13. Responsible for role modeling positive behaviors and leadership for student-athletes. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
