The Office of Student Financial Aid has an opportunity for an Assistant Director for State Aid (Financial Aid Associate) to lead the administration of state financial aid programs, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with ISAC and NCAA guidelines, and serves as the primary point of contact for Athletics, coordinating on matters related to financial aid and ensuring all NCAA regulations are adhered to.
The Assistant Director will supervise and manage the work of two Financial Aid Coordinators. This includes coordinating work schedules, providing training and guidance, evaluating performance, and addressing any issues that arise.

Apply NowThe Assistant Director oversees the processing of state awards, including IL MAP, AIM High, ECACE, Post-Masters social work awards, and others. This requires understanding the criteria for these awards, reviewing applications, and ensuring they are processed accurately and timely.
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting, business, or finance related field.
Minimum of 3 years of direct financial aid experience.
Must demonstrate the following:
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams.
Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external organizations, especially with Athletics.
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of ISAC, NCAA, and other relevant regulations.
Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring attention to detail.
Reporting and Data Analysis: Proficiency in using data management tools and presenting clear reports.
Problem-Solving: Capacity to resolve issues effectively and creatively.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing regulations and office needs.
